I made this for another co-worker. This guy had 1 karaoke speaker in his house for music. It was sad. I let him pick out the colors and finish. He's crazy about them. Used a $20 chip amp with bluetooth for power. Works flawlessly. Even his wife approves. John helped me with cabinet size and port size. If I remember correctly they were 10x10x18 with a 2" PVC port. I rounded the hole for the port and ended up cutting the hole too big. I glued a piece of MDF I had left over to support the port tube and then contoured it with wood putty. Some black spray paint and you have to look pretty close to notice it. I actually got the MDF from Home Depot on the scrap pile for 70% so I got a deal there. I painted the front a textured silvery color and used Exohyde coating (from Parts Express) for the rest. I would say a total of $50 was spent on these. I don't think you can spend that and get better sounding speakers from anywhere on the planet.
