i happen to own a center speaker and a pair of surrounds (bipole/dipole) in which P.A. used this very driver. as for me i have been a DIY speaker enthusiast since i was a small boy when i repaired a pair of Klipsch Heresy's after blowing the tweeters!! WAY TO MUCH TREBLE!!lol...but these little MW's are a great sounding speaker in both of my apps. i feel sure that they would work equally well in a slim tower design as well as a compact bookshelf speaker, provided the enclosures were properly designed and the appropriate x-over were used. they would also work very well in a 3-way setup as a dedicated midrangre. i was very happy to find them here on the mavin website and in the near future, plan to purchase them for a design of my own in an MTM configuration for use with speaker stands in a bedroom system...like john says "sound without quality is just noise". i couldn't have said it better myself. buy them, you won't be disappointed.
P.S. it's nice to have another 'GO TO' source for speaker building components who is down to earth and equally polite when you speak with them on the phone. THX MAVIN
