A number of years ago I built a portable (relatively speaking ;) ) 5.1 surround system. I used this setup for the center channel and for the front & rear L/R speakers I used a single Boston Acoustics 4.5" and the Samsung tweeter. To top off the system I have an 8" self powered subwoofer.

I bought a new 3D plasma HDTV last spring and needed to get it a little higher on my TV cabinet since I wear trifocals. My old center channel speaker was a littlle too small for the new HDTV to safely sit on so I decided to build a larger center channel speaker. I bought this setsof these to build some rear channel towers for my home theater system. I needed to get the speakers up high enough to be heard when sitting in my recliner so I made a pair of Tall Boy Tritrix, a Curt Campbell design.

This kit when installed in a well designed and well built cabinet sound great. I would compare them to any commercial speaker system of the same size and they would come out winners.
